78 People Caught Flouting Social Distancing Rules at Bowery Karaoke Bar
A karaoke bar on the Bowery was busted by the Sheriff’s office Friday night for violating COVID-19 social distancing regulations.
According to a report in Gothamist, seventy-eight people were spotted inside K-One Karaoke Bar at 97 Bowery eating and drinking at about 2:30am on Saturday morning. No distancing or masks.
Sheriff Joe Fucito, head of the Sheriff’s Office, confirmed that manager Yu Min Xu, and security guard, Yong Liu, were taken into custody for social distancing violations, and issued appearance tickets.
Xu was also cited for unlawfully altering the nature or character of business, obstructed exits, employing an unlicensed security guard, failing to post a state business certificate, and not properly displaying the bar’s liquor license. Moreover, Liu was ticketed for not attending a security training.
