Miami-Based Mojo is Next to Paint the Bowery Mural Wall
For the first time in almost a year, there is a changing of the guard at the Bowery Mural Wall.
A mobile boom lift was spotted next to the one-story canvas over the weekend, which is the telltale sign of a new artist here.
The incumbent mural, painted over two weeks last September by Brooklyn-based Japanese artist Tomokazu Matsuyama, will soon give way to the work of another. Professional visual artist Anthony Reid II, known in the art world as Mojo, is next to the proverbial plate. Expect the newest mural treatment in the coming days.
Mojo is based in Miami, by way of St. Louis. According to his website:
Art has always been therapeutic to Mojo throughout his personal and professional development, and his desire to share this positive form of expression is what drives him to develop projects that motivate others. He is currently sponsored by arts and crafts company Sargent Art, the Bungii App, and Toast Vodka.
