On Orchard Street, Pizza Beach Packs it In
Pizza Beach packed up its possessions last week and is now closed. The action transpired just before the indoor dining ban took hold last Monday.
The Orchard Street dining room is now cleaned out, and its curbside corral dismantled and stacked inside. Frozen in time.
Yet, it’s unclear whether this closure is permanent. Our requests for comment go unanswered.
Pizza Beach opened here in Hell Square five years ago as a satellite of the Upper East Side original. The Martignetti brothers (Brinkley’s, East Pole) had together purchased the nightlife assets from Rob Shamlian, whose prior concepts at 167 Orchard Street – Tiny Fork and The Derby – were both failures.
The uptown Pizza Beach closed in 2019, leaving this location as the standard bearer.
