Today Marks Nine Years of International Clash Day
Today commemorates nine consecutive years celebrating the music and message of the “only band that matters.”
That’s right – it’s International Clash Day, and it looks like it’s here to stay.
This year, the event’s founding radio station, Seattle’s KEXP, will air the Clash all day, while also deep diving into the band’s influences, and broadcasting international music that shares in their spirit as a band.
Every International Clash Day has a unique angle, and 2021 is no different. This year, Latin radio stations and DJs from Argentina, Chile, Colombia, and Mexico will weigh in on the band’s ethos. As Joe Strummer said, “We’re anti-fascist, we’re anti-violence, we’re anti-racist, and we’re pro-creative. We’re against ignorance.”
More than 110 radio stations around the world participate in International Clash Day. Tune in from 5 AM to 7 PM PT on 90.3 KEXP, KEXP.org, and the KEXP App to check out to the broadcast.
