Not two months after the Appellate Court overturned community lawsuits stopping the Two Bridges mega-developments, one of said projects is now moving forward.
Tenants of the Lands End II housing complex were informed, via letter, that the rear parking lot will close by the end of April to make way for the 700-foot megatowers by L+M Partners (the firm recently sold its stake in Land’s End). Countdown begins.
As previously reported, L+M partnered with Handel Architects for the two-towered project that is to add 1.1 million square-feet of floor area. Both super-talls will altogether include 1,350 apartments with more than 300 earmarked as affordable; retail spaces are also anticipated on the Cherry Street front, including the possibility of a grocery or pharmacy. The displaced parking for Lands End II Section 8 residents will also be relocated to a subterranean lot, and one hundred residents will lose those river views.
The start of this massive construction project is nearly five years in the making.
