Man in Chrystie Street Hotel-Shelter Charged with Skatepark Murder
An area man was arrested in connection with the stabbing death of a man inside Coleman Skatepark on early Friday morning, cops said.
The victim, identified as a 27-year-old Bronx resident, was discovered by a school bus driver inside the Monroe Street park at around 7:40am, with stab wounds all over his body. The victim and his alleged murderer were apparently acquainted, so police don’t believe this was a random attack. In fact, published reports indicate that an argument preceded the stabbing.
The suspected murder weapon, which cops believe is a homemade knife, was reportedly nearby.
The attacker was tracked down later Friday, and found inside the hotel-cum-shelter at the 61 Chrystie Street Comfort Inn. Police charged him with criminally negligent homicide.
