Asian Woman Sucker Punched in Unprovoked Attack Outside Chinatown Flower Shop
Police launched an investigation this week after an Asian woman was punched in front of a Chinatown flower shop in an apparent unprovoked attack.
According to the report, the 68-year-old victim was collecting an item on the sidewalk when an unknown suspect clocked her in the face while passing. The incident, which transpired outside 179 Mulberry Street at 10:00pm on Tuesday night, was caught by surveillance camera.
The woman suffered swelling and pain as a result, but reportedly refused medical attention; and the male suspect fled the scene.
There have been 109 anti-Asian attacks between January 1 and July 25 of 2021, according to ABC7.
