With the twentieth anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks just days away, a tribute mural is now on display on the Bowery.

Prolific photographer and artist Adrian Wilson used his perennial roll-down canvas at 246 Bowery as dedication to the fallen victims of 9/11 and the war in Afghanistan.

“I wanted to commemorate the 20 years since the attacks on 9/11 and include ALL the needless deaths,” Wilson said in an Instagram post.

To complete the effort, Wilson invited firefighters from Ladder 20/Division 1 (on Lafayette Street) to paint the finishing touches on the statement piece; the number killed in New York twenty years ago.

“I asked if they would do me the honor of completing the tribute by spraying the number who died in New York because it included many of their fallen brothers,” he noted.

Residents of Extell’s “affordable tower” at 227 Cherry Street are barking foul over the proliferation of pitbulls, despite the no-pet policy.
