It was a successful run, but Olek is now packing up her crocheted living room after an eight-month residency at the Christopher Henry Gallery on Elizabeth Street.

Olek’s stunning yarn bikes and yarn car seem to have captivated the neighborhood. In our daily travels, we often see her artwork attracting gazes and photo lenses alike. Without fail. So much so, that the Christopher Henry Gallery has decided to extend her exhibit, “Knitting is for Pus****.” Now’s your chance to check it out.

Well, wouldn’t you know it – the two neighborhood yarn bikes mated in the back of the yarn car and birthed a baby. Their offspring now sits in the intersection of Bowery and Delancey. Looks like Polish artist Olek is back on the beat, easily one-upping her previous yarn bike effort. Parked outside the Christopher Henry Gallery at 127 Elizabeth Street is this fabulous yarn car. It’s sheathed in a sleeve of bright colors and interesting patterns, and quite hard to miss.
