Subway Now Open at 229 Chrystie Street

The Avalon Chrystie condo-slash-strip mall officially filled its final retail vacancy.  Subway is now open for business at 229 Chrystie Street, roughly five months after work first began. If you decide to dine here, be sure to avoid the always-heaping piles of garbage bags. Does their “eat fresh” slogan still apply in this instance…?

Subway is on the verge of opening its zillionth New York City location inside the Avalon Chrystie complex.  The lights were on last night at 229 Chrystie Street, with employees working on all the last-minute preparations.

The recent onslaught of Subway restaurants across the neighborhood continues in earnest. As we reported last month, the Avalon Chrystie is poised to host its very own franchise at 229 Chrystie Street, right alongside Whole Foods. While little activity has transpired to prepare the fast food joint for action, official signage is now in place.
