Last Tuesday, just before the Thanksgiving break, there was an apparent gas leak at 80 Delancey Street. Con Edison quickly shut off the utility to the building. Residents are pissed, though, mainly due to the purported lack of transparency from management. The token green-and-white awnings are gone. Stripped from the facade of 80 Delancey Street. No, Starbucks isn’t closing its sole Lower East Side outpost. We should be so lucky! Starbucks might be on a tear of late, what with its East Village expansion plans and all. Yet further south, the sister location at 80 Delancey is struggling a bit.

The Starbucks at 80 Delancey dumps all its trash around the corner, on the Allen Street facade of its building. Awhile back, a black garbage chute or sorts was installed to hide the mess a bit. Guess that wasn’t enough space for their waste.
