The filming occupation of Now You See Me on the Lower East Side continues this morning, as production is now centered outside the 88 Orchard cafe

We received word over the Twitter wire yesterday that 88 Orchard is now officially permitted to serve alcohol to patrons sitting at their outdoor tables. Community Board 3 approved the sidewalk cafe extension back in February, but the coffee shop just received the go-ahead.

Yesterday, 88 Orchard officially announced its new summertime menu. The small plates are served daily after 6 pm, and include ingredients sourced from a handful of culinary neighbors – Il Laboratorio del Gelato, Saxelby Cheesemongers, The Pickle Guys, and Formaggio Essex. Also, sangria is now part of their wine list.

Starting tomorrow, 88 Orchard will be offering up a new “small plates” menu during the daily dinner rush. After 6 pm, to be precise.
