Under renovation since last June, the Hester Street Playground in the southern section of Sara D. Roosevelt Park is finally nearing the finish line. Restoration for 64 Delancey

Early last month, the dreaded combination of scaffolding and netting was attached to the four-story 64 Delancey, located at the northwest corner of Allen Street. Luckily, however, this stout building is being restored, not demolished. Just a little nip/tuck, as it were.

Mercer-Houston Dog Run Greenery

Yesterday morning, the Mercer-Houston Dog Run received some late-summer greenery. A small group of workers was busy planting flowers and bushes along the metal fence. Yet despite the recent rehabilitation and this latest effort to beautify, the park remains stubbornly depressing.
