There is no more hiding behind closed doors or brown window paper. And no more Chickie Pig’s paraphernalia, either. Just a few weeks after our last update, the second Lower East Side location of Ramen Kuidouraku is now serving at 121 Ludlow Street.

A week later, we now know the identity of the noodle shop to replace the long dormant Chickie Pig’s at 121 Ludlow. Yup, it appears to be the second downtown location of Ramen Kuidouraku. A poster on the door reveals this intel, along with sumptuous pictures of the cuisine.

The Chickie Pig’s pizzeria has been out of commission for two years now. In that time, the space remained dormant, and all available window real estate was dedicated to promoting the storefront rental. But now it appears the drought is finally over at 121 Ludlow Street.

The “for rent” rhetoric is heating up at 121 Ludlow, former home of Chickie Pig’s. Gone are the musty red curtains, instead replaced with rental notices and an unobstructed view of the stripped-down interior. Two such signs taped in the windows advertise a “fully built restaurant,” while a more generic third resides behind the glass. […]
