Probably one of the more significant components of the DOT Delancey Street safety plan is finally in effect, arriving nearly two weeks after the “no left turn” on Essex was first implemented.

Oh shit! A sad loss has just befallen Norfolk Street. Probably our favorite street sign in the whole neighborhood was recently pried from its longtime housing just south of Delancey. Say it ain’t so.

Delancey continues its carnage streak, despite renewed efforts to make the thoroughfare much safer. Yesterday evening, a biker was clipped in the northeast intersection of Allen and Delancey. Portable road signs arrived curbside in two locations a few weeks ago, flashing a lighted announcement that Delancey traffic patterns will change starting June 11.

Delancey Street holiday traffic resulted in a car accident in the intersection of Delancey and Allen Street.
