It’s a normal occurrence of late. The 5th Precinct sends a detatchment of officers to the intersection of Chrystie and Rivington Street with the purpose of enforcing the rules of the road.

The stoic Ghost Bike tribute at the northwest corner of Delancey and Chrystie Street remains a somber reminder of the tragic accident that transpired here back in August.

Yesterday morning at around 9:05 am, an eighteen-wheeler struck a cyclist in the intersection of Bowery and Delancey. One Boogie reader (and good Samaritan!) was on scene and emailed us a detailed report of what transpired. As the tipster aptly notes, the intersection is a “fucking deathtrap.”

Word has just come through the wire that a cyclist was hit by a truck at the corner of Delancey and Bowery. The tipster wrote in saying, “Cyclist just got crushed by truck on Delancey and Bowery south east corner. He was in the crossing lane and had the light.”
