Last night, Katra was holding a red-carpet fundraiser. This being the new upscale Bowery, all the stops were pulled – bouncers, ear pieces, guest lists, short skirts, etc. Even a rotating mobile spotlight was employed for dramatic effect.

The Black Market will be having another street sale of vintage-wear on Ludlow Street today to help benefit victims of the Haiti earthquake. “The Black Market” Haiti Relief Fundraiser Vintage Fashion Street Sale Ludlow/Stanton Street (across from Piano’s) Sunday 3/21, 12 pm A portion of proceeds from the sale will be donated to Haiti relief

Tomorrow night, the Bowery Poetry Club is hosting a benefit for Tuli Kupferberg, famous poet, author, and co-founder of rock group The Fugs. Kupferberg recently suffered two strokes and is now blind. Funds raised during this event will help pay for his medical costs.
