Another year, another attempt to pitch the retail unit at 222 Bowery. More than two-and-a-half years after Green Depot departed the storied “Bunker” building, the former environmentally-concious hardware store remains a vacant shell of itself. Other than being bent out of whack, there’s nothing extraordinary about the iron tree cage just outside the Green Depot on the Bowery. Yet for some reason, locals love to impale all types of trash on its blunt pikes. Usually it’s spent cups or empty beer cans.
