Early Sunday morning, cherry pickers were deployed in full force to install the annual seasonal lighting along Orchard Street. As usual, the festive lights occupy the lion’s share of Orchard, but criss-cross at Grand Street. Every year, like clockwork. And if past is prologue, we can expect illumination just before Thanksgiving.

Today is the last day to catch a glimpse of Sukkah City 2010, an assemblage of “radically temporary” sukkahs in Union Square Park. From dawn until dusk.
