Hotels are again the talk headache of the neighborhood. Fresh off blockbuster news that a Comfort Inn is moving into 136 Ludlow (just across from the UN!), there is now visible activity to report at the corner of Suffolk and Delancey, future site of Sam Chang’s hotel venture.

It appears that the days are numbered for the Jimmy Jazz outpost at the northeast corner of Delancey and Orchard Streets. Just over a month after being reduced to dust, 148-154 Delancey is now a vacant sandlot surrounded by a chain-link fence. The site awaits the inevitable ground-breaking for McSam Group’s new six-story Holiday Inn. Your move, Sam.

Just over a week later, the razing of 148-154 Delancey is nearly complete. In the wake of all the demolition, there is now an unobstructed view of the prominent JARE NEXT tag.
