Yesterday morning, Manhattan Borough President Gale Brewer announced the recipients of her office’s 2016 Capital grant awards. $30 million was awarded to, among others, 92 schools, 9 CUNY/SUNY campuses, 16 public parks, and 5 public libraries. Starting Wednesday, the Seward Park branch of the New York Public Library will temporarily close for a quick makeover. The month-long renovation project will address cosmetic issues within the century-old Lower East Side facility. Police are searching for a forty-something man wanted for sexually assaulting a young girl (age 9) in the New York Public Library branch at 192 East Broadway. The crime reportedly occurred last Thursday at approximately 5 pm.
