Line Drawn in the Rivington Sand

The proverbial line in the sand is now drawn on the Rivington sidewalk between Norfolk and Suffolk Streets. Directly across from Schiller’s.  It’s another chapter, albeit comical, in the age-old battle between New Yorkers and tourists. Just be careful where you walk! [Thanks to @donetodeath for the tip]

While strolling the Bowery yesterday morning, we came across a hopscotch matrix of faces chalked on the sidewalk outside the Bowery Mission.  Spanning nearly half the concrete between Rivington and Stanton, the graffiti layout included 180 faces, marked at various numeric intervals, as well as a “good luck spot” starting circle.  Check it out before […]

February Aftermath on the Streets

After a February wrought with extreme weather, the neighborhood infrastructure is suffering.  And now that the snow has finally melted, we can analyze the aftermath!  New plow-induced potholes are seemingly everywhere, like this one on East Houston at the mouth of Orchard Street.

Sidewalk Outside 38 Delancey is Complete

Wow! The new sidewalk outside 38 Delancey is now ready for foot traffic.  Finally, a pathway without all the endless clutter from construction. It’s definitely been a long time coming, considering this whole area was marked with rotting plywood for over three years.

New Sidewalk for 38 Delancey

There are signs of life again at the construction site of future condoplex 38 Delancey.  Yesterday, the old plywood perimeter was recessed to provide a temporary walkway while a large swath of the sidewalk is repaired.

Sláinte Sidewalk Furniture

It was a balmy 32 degrees on the Bowery yesterday afternoon. Apparently that was warm enough to break out the sidewalk furniture at Sláinte.
