Earlier this year, construction workers at the new Broadway-Lafayette superstation decapitated one of the downtown 6 Bleecker Street entrances. The result was months of sidewalk closure and pedestrian aggravation.

The new Spike television show Blue Mountain State is receiving some pre-premiere negative reviews from the street. Subway advertising for the upcoming comedy program in Grand Street stations was recently vandalized to read, “this is what rape culture looks like.” A valid point given the legs-in-a-helmet logo.

Four days after our subway connection progress report, the subterranean construction work at the northeast corner of Lafayette Street and Houston is now capped with cement. All hail the return of the sidewalk!
