Amidst its fifth season, the Hester Street Fair is soon expanding its footprint to include the adjacent parkspace. Seward Park, deemed the first playground built in New York City (1903). Like it or not, the Hester Street Fair is a force to be reckoned with, having established a benchmark for neighborhood festivals.

We received an email from the organizers of the Hester Street Fair regarding the celebration of Mother’s Day this weekend. There are a whole host of new vendors this weekend, as well as a Bake for Hope bake sale to raise money for breast cancer research.

Grub Street is reporting that a new Hester Street Fair is coming to the empty dead-end park space at Essex Street. It will be a seasonal flea market of sorts, running between the hours of 10 am and 6 pm on Saturdays and Sundays.
