The trendiest neighborhood hotels – Thompson LES, Cooper Square Hotel, Bowery Hotel – have nothing on this Orchard Street studio gem, currently being whored out as a vacation rental. Apparently it’s the most comfortable studio apartment in all of downtown Manhattan, and can be yours for $150 per night.

Don’t be alarmed by the computer printout taped to the brick facade of Kampuchea at 78 Rivington. The eatery is currently on vacation for Thanksgiving and will reopen for service on Friday, December 4.

Alas, the simply delicious Doughnut Plant at 379 Grand Street is closed until after Labor Day. A sign hanging in the window explains that the employees are on vacation. Guess that banana pecan treat will just need to wait.
